The Minister of Local Governance in the Government of National Unity, Badr Al-Din Al-Tumi, met with the Mayor of Tarhuna and the Municipality Council members to discuss the latest developments in efforts to address the aftermath of the recent floods that hit the city. The meeting addressed initial reports on the extent of damage to homes and properties, in addition to, an assessment of the needs of affected families, which includes providing temporary accommodation until their homes are repaired. The meeting also touched on the precautionary measures being taken by the General Company for Water and Wastewater to ensure the safety of drinking water, as periodic inspections and disinfection of wells are being conducted to ensure they are free of any possible contamination. For its part, the Tarhuna Municipal Council praised the government’s efforts in dealing with the crisis, commending its swift response and provision of the necessary support to the city.
