In a move reflecting the deep relationship between the two countries, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in the Libyan government, Dr. Abdulhadi Al-Huwaij, announced the government’s approval to open a Sudanese general consulate in the city of Kufra. This announcement was made during his meeting with the Sudanese Consul, Abdulrahman Mohamed Rahmatullah, at the ministry’s headquarters in Benghazi today, where the two sides discussed bilateral relations and several issues of common concern.
Al-Huwaij affirmed Libya’s full support for the unity and stability of Sudan, as part of providing support to Sudanese fleeing the conflict in their country, he indicated Libya’s readiness to facilitate the establishment of Sudanese schools in various Libyan cities, to enable members of the Sudanese community to continue their education.
For his part, the Sudanese Consul praised the services provided by Libya to the displaced Sudanese, expressing his thanks to Marshal Khalifa Haftar and the Libyan government.
