On Thursday, the Chairman of the Presidential Council, Mohamed Al-Menfi, received the French Ambassador to Libya, Mustafa Mihraje, at the council’s headquarters in Tripoli. During the meeting, the French ambassador handed Al-Menfi an official invitation from French President Emmanuel Macron to attend an upcoming international summit in Paris in early June.
The discussions during the meeting focused on the latest political and security developments in Libya, as well as the efforts being made by the UNSMIL to advance the political process. Both sides emphasized the importance of meeting the aspirations of the Libyan people for a comprehensive political settlement that paves the way for general elections and ensures stability and democratic transition.
