The Webometrics World University Rankings, issued by the Spanish National Research Council, is one of the largest university ranking systems worldwide. This ranking aims to enhance the online presence of higher education and scientific research institutions, as well as encourage the publication of peer-reviewed research through open-access platforms. The ranking is published semi-annually in January and July of each year and relies on analyzing university performance through their websites, focusing on specific criteria such as the volume of academic content, citations of published research, and the overall impact of the institution on the web.
