In preparation for the celebration of African Culture Day on January 24, 2025, Dr. Salha Al-Toumi Al-Darouqi, the Libyan Minister of Culture and Arts, held a meeting with Dr. Jamal Al-Barghathi, the delegate of the Ministry of African Affairs.
Several officials from both ministries attended the meeting, including the manager of the Minister’s Office, the Manager of the Administrative and Financial Department, and the Legal Office Manager.
The meeting discussed the final arrangements for the celebration, which will be held in cooperation between the two ministries, in addition to putting the final touches on the general program.
Dr. Al-Darouqi announced that Dr. Al-Siddiq Khalifa, Head of the High National Reconciliation Commission, will be granted the honorary presidency of this event. She stressed the importance of highlighting the role of African and Libyan culture in supporting traditional industries and preserving the African heritage, through the screening of a documentary during the celebration.
At the end of the meeting, it was agreed to form two joint committees (a higher committee and an executive committee) to supervise the preparations and ensure the success of this important event at the national and continental levels.
