As part of a security campaign to combat begging, the Combating Begging Committee in Tripoli Security Directorate apprehended ten children of African nationality who were begging in the streets of the capital.
The children were handed over to the Child and Family Protection Section, which also contacted Abu Salim Shelter to receive them following legal procedures.
This campaign comes under the directives of the Chief of Police of Tripoli, Major General Khalil Wahiba, intending to eliminate the phenomenon of exploiting children in begging and preserving their rights under the applicable laws.
