GNU Denies Activating Emergency Plan to Face Protests in Tripoli

The government’s fact-checking platform “Tabyan”  denied activating the emergency plan, assuring that the circulating letter, acclaimed to be an official letter from PM Dbeibah to the Minister of Interior, is forged, and there.

This denial comes after protesters organized demonstrations in front of the Prime Minister’s residence in Tripoli and several other Libyan cities, following statements made by the dismissed Foreign Minister, Najla Mangoush, to Atheer podcast, speaking about the meeting between her and the former Israeli Foreign Minister, Eli Cohen, in Rome.

Tripoli also witnessed another demonstration yesterday, Monday, in front of the Prime Minister’s office, organized by the “Delegations and Scholarships movement”. The protestors demanded the resumption of delegating faculty members, teaching assistants, and scholarships for top students. The demands also included implementing the terms of the agreement signed last November. This mandated opening an investigation and holding accountable those involved in the delegations scandal and demanded the Attorney General of Libya to publish the investigation results.
