The UN envoy to Libya, Stephanie Koury, met today with a delegation from the city of Gharyan, which included a wide range of political and social figures, including members of the House of Representatives and the High Council of State, members of the municipality council and Gharyan University, in addition to women, youth, and community leaders.
Discussions focused on the current political situation in Libya, where Koury listened to the views of the delegation members on the opportunities and challenges facing citizens at this stage.
The delegation stressed the need to hold national elections, unify institutions, and make a permanent constitution for the country, stressing the importance of the participation of all Libyan parties and components in all stages of the political process, considering inclusiveness as the key to success in building the future of Libya.
For her part, Koury praised the conciliatory role of Gharyan in the history of Libya, and its position as an important educational center, stressing the importance of continuing dialogue with all parties in various Libyan regions in order to achieve a comprehensive national consensus that supports stability and development.
