WFP provides urgent food aid to Sudanese Refugees in Kufra

The United Nations World Food Programme has begun distributing urgent food aid to thousands of Sudanese refugees in Kufra in southeastern Libya, in cooperation with the Illegal Immigration Control Agency and the Kufra Municipality, with an active contribution from the Libyan Red Crescent.
The campaign, which was launched this week, aims to provide food baskets to about 4,600 Sudanese families who have taken refuge in Kufra, to meet their basic food needs.
nutritional supplements will be provided to children under the age of five to combat malnutrition and improve their health, in coordination with UNICEF and the World Health Organization.
The campaign also pays special attention to providing intensive nutritional support to pregnant and nursing women to ensure their safety
This campaign is part of the WFP’s efforts to alleviate the suffering of refugees and displaced persons in Libya, and to provide the necessary support to the most vulnerable groups.
