UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres met this month in New York with representatives of the Arab Group, including the Libyan delegate, where they expressed their categorical rejection of any attempt to displace Palestinians.
Al-Taher Al-Sunni, Libya’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, confirmed via his “X” account that the meeting, chaired by Kuwait, witnessed a firm affirmation of the unified Arab position against the efforts sought by parties aiming to displace Palestinians from Gaza and the West Bank. Al-Sunni added that these attempts constitute an ethnic cleansing and war crime.
This meeting comes amid growing fears of the implementation of plans aimed at changing the demographic composition of the Palestinian territories, as the Arab Group seeks to intensify its diplomatic efforts to prevent any such actions.
