Chess player Abdullah Al-Bousifi was crowned champion of Zawiya’s Classical Chess Tournament, which concluded on Monday evening in the Jaw Daem Forest in Zawiya city, where he won the gold medal. Meanwhile, Amr Ftais won the silver medal, and Mohammed Medhat won the bronze medal.
The tournament started last Wednesday, with the participation of more than seventy chess players, and was held in a Swiss-system format with nine rounds.
This tournament is part of the Libyan Chess Federation’s program, which includes eight regional tournaments qualifying for the Libyan Championship this year.
