Salah Maghawry, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the Middle East News Agency, affirmed that Egypt continues its vigorous endeavors to bridge the gap between the conflicting Libyan parties and advance the political process towards a solution that ends the crisis in the country.
In a televised interview on “Extra News” channel, Maghawry emphasized the importance of forming a unified Libyan national government, considering it a necessary step to overcome the obstacles hindering the holding of general elections.
He clarified that the recent Cairo meeting between the Libyan House of Representatives and the High Council of State falls within the framework of Egypt’s continuous efforts to draw a clear roadmap for the Libyan crisis and create the conditions for holding free and fair elections.
Maghawry pointed out that this meeting represents another link in a series of meetings hosted by Cairo over the past years, aimed at alleviating the suffering of the Libyan people and supporting efforts to achieve stability in Libya.
