The Libyan Basketball Cup competitions for the 2024-2025 sports season kicked off yesterday, Monday, with preliminary qualifying matches taking place in both the western and eastern regions.
The opening match at the Tripoli Hall saw Al-Ittihad dominate their counterpart Abu Salim with a score of 105-29, in a game completely controlled by Al-Ittihad.
Competitions in the western region continue today, Tuesday, with a match between Al-Shabab and the University of Tripoli team, while tomorrow, Wednesday, Al-Madina will face Al-Isha’a. The first week’s matches conclude on Thursday with a strong encounter between Al-Ahly Tripoli and Belkhair.
In the eastern region, competitions are scheduled to begin next Saturday at the Wanees Abu Khamada Hall in Benghazi, where Al-Ahly Benghazi will face Al-Ittihad Al-Marj, followed by a highly anticipated match between Al-Nasr and Al-Hilal on Sunday, March 9, at the Nabil Ben Ghazi Hall.
