Emad Al-Maqtouf, the Mayor of Al-Asaba’a Municipality, revealed that approximately 160 homes have been damaged by a series of mysterious fires that erupted in the area, causing widespread panic among residents.
In a press statement, Al-Maqtouf explained that the fire frequency has decreased in recent hours, but the true causes of their outbreak remain unknown, with no official reports from relevant authorities.
He added that the municipality has submitted a formal request to the Minister of Local Government in the GNU, demanding the deployment of international experts to investigate the real causes of the recurring fires in the area.
Al-Maqtouf pointed out that residents are living in a state of fear and anxiety, especially with the repeated fires without any logical explanation.
