The Minister of Women’s Affairs in the Libyan government, Intisar Abboud, has reaffirmed the government’s unwavering commitment to strengthening women’s rights and empowering them across all sectors. In a message marking International Women’s Day, the Minister commended the role of Libyan women in building society and supporting development and progress.
Abboud emphasized that the celebration of International Women’s Day is not merely an occasion for commemoration, but a significant opportunity to underscore the importance of women’s empowerment and the enhancement of their active participation in various sectors, based on the belief in their capabilities and potential, which have proven their merit in diverse fields.
Abboud asserted that the Libyan government is determined to relentlessly pursue its work to ensure women obtain their full rights and to provide a supportive environment for their effective participation in building a brighter and more equitable future, noting that societies cannot achieve genuine prosperity unless women are granted equal opportunities to fulfill their aspirations.
In concluding her message, the Minister congratulated women worldwide, stating, “May women across the globe be well every year, may you always be the inspiring force and the spirit that makes a difference.”
