The acting Minister of Interior of the GNU Imad Trabelsi, discussed with the Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Libya, Hanna Tetteh, ways to secure the upcoming elections and the importance of providing a safe and stable environment to ensure free and fair elections.
This meeting comes within a series of introductory meetings held by Trabelsi with various local parties, as reported by the UNSMIL on its official Facebook page.
During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on the current security situation in Libya and reviewed the possibility of the UN mission providing the necessary support for Libyan efforts aimed at enhancing security, reducing tensions, and promoting dialogue between authorities and local communities.
