Marshal Khalifa Haftar, the General Commander of the Libyan Armed Forces, received Viktor Karankevich, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus, and his accompanying delegation, at his office at the General Command headquarters.
Marshal Haftar welcomed the Belarusian delegation, praising the deep historical and distinguished relations that bind Libya and Belarus.
For his part, Karankevich conveyed the greetings of Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko to Marshal Haftar and the Libyan people, expressing his appreciation for the active role played by the General Commander at both the local and international levels.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways to enhance cooperation and coordination between Libya and Belarus in a range of vital sectors, including economy, education, agriculture, and health.
Emphasis was placed on the importance of exchanging experiences and expertise in these areas and activating the bilateral agreements signed between the two countries, contributing to strengthening the strategic partnership and opening new horizons for joint cooperation.
