Aliou Cissé, the head coach of the Libyan national football team, has revealed a squad of 30 players in preparation for the matches against Angola and Cameroon in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
The squad includes three goalkeepers: Murad Al-Wahishi, Mohammed Ayad, and Ahmed Ayad.
In defense, the following players were selected: Sobhi Al-Mabrouk, Mahdi Al-Kout, Mohammed Al-Shtaiwi, Sanad Ben Ali, Al-Bahloul Abu Sahmain, Taher Ben Amer, Al-Mu’tasim Sabou, Abdulaziz Al-Suwai’i, and Majdi Artiba.
In midfield, the squad features Faisal Al-Badri, Hamza Al-Maqsi, Badr Hassan, Abdullah Daqo, Muhannad Aitou, Osama Al-Shraimi, Omar Al-Khouja, Ahmed Saad, Abdul-Aati Al-Abbasi, Fadel Salama, Taha Al-Shalawi, Muayad Al-Lafi, and Mohammed Sola.
In attack, Cissé chose: Fahd Al-Mismari, Azzu Al-Maryami, Ahmed Karaouh, and Anas Al-Masrati.
The national team is preparing to face their Angolan counterparts on March 20th at Martyrs of Benina Stadium in the fifth round of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
The team is scheduled to enter a short preparatory camp before the anticipated matches, as the coaching staff aims to achieve positive results that enhance the team’s chances of qualifying for the 2026 World Cup.
