Rabab Halab, a member of the High National Elections Commission (HNEC) Board, held a series of meetings with awareness coordinators from electoral administration offices in targeted municipalities to monitor the voter registration process, with a particular focus on women’s registration rates.
The meetings were dedicated to discussing the challenges and obstacles facing women in the registration process and developing effective high national mechanisms to overcome these difficulties to increase women’s participation in municipal elections.
Enhancing cooperation and coordination with awareness ambassadors, who play a vital role in educating women about the importance of political participation, was also discussed.
Awareness coordinators reviewed the field challenges they face in implementing awareness programs and presented proposals for alternative plans that can be implemented in the next phase.
The importance of involving active civil society organizations in awareness programs was also emphasized to ensure that awareness messages reach the widest possible segment of women.
