Gianni Infantino, President of the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA), has extended a formal invitation to Abdulmoula Maghrebi, President of the Libyan Football Federation, to visit FIFA headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland, to conduct in-depth discussions on ways to support and develop Libyan football.
The invitation came during a private reception for Maghrebi on the sidelines of his participation in the Confederation of African Football (CAF) General Assembly meetings held in Cairo, which saw the re-election of Patrice Motsepe as CAF President by acclamation.
During the meeting, Infantino congratulated Maghrebi on gaining the unanimous trust of the Libyan Football Federation General Assembly, wishing him and his board members success in leading Libyan football towards fulfilling the aspirations of its fans.
Maghrebi’s visit to FIFA headquarters is expected to include a series of intensive meetings and consultations aimed at developing effective strategies to advance Libyan football and identifying support mechanisms that FIFA can provide to the Libyan Federation.
Discussions will focus on several key areas, including developing football infrastructure, training coaches and referees, supporting national teams, and enhancing the participation of Libyan clubs in continental and international competitions.
This invitation reflects FIFA’s commitment to supporting football in Libya and assisting the Libyan Federation in overcoming its challenges, achieving development, and prosperity in this vital sector.
