In a meeting between the Governor of the Central Bank of Libya, Naji Issa, and the Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Libya, Hannah Tetteh, Issa outlined the measures the bank has taken to enhance financial inclusion and provide cash liquidity.
According to a statement issued by the bank, Tetteh praised the bank’s progress in addressing the liquidity crisis and developing electronic services. She also emphasized the bank’s role in supporting financial reforms, including the issuance of a unified budget law.
At the conclusion of the meeting, held in Tripoli, Tetteh stressed the necessity of maintaining the independence of the Central Bank of Libya and keeping it neutral from political conflicts, emphasizing the importance of continuing its efforts to achieve comprehensive economic reform.
