A high-level delegation from the Libyan Football Federation, led by the president, Abdulmoula Maghrebi, and the First Vice President, Fawzi Jaouda, participated in the Extraordinary General Assembly meetings of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), recently held in Cairo, the Egyptian capital.
The meetings, which spanned Wednesday, saw the re-election of South African Patrice Motsepe as CAF President by acclamation for a new presidential term extending until 2029, following the absence of other candidates for the position.
On the sidelines of the congress activities, the Libyan delegation held a series of fruitful meetings with heads of African national federations, where they exchanged views on ways to enhance cooperation in technical and administrative fields.
Cooperation efforts were also coordinated with the presidents of the Angolan and Cameroonian federations, aiming to secure the best possible conditions for the Libyan national team’s delegation during their upcoming matches in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
