As part of its efforts to enhance security competencies, the Ministry of Interior in the Libyan government is conducting intensive discussions regarding the establishment of a branch of the Graduate Studies College for Security and Legal Sciences in the southern region. A meeting between the Minister of Interior, Major General Essam Abu Zriba, and the Dean of the College, Major General Khaled Al-Faidi, addressed the challenges facing this vital project, in addition to reviewing ways to develop the educational process in the main college.
During the meeting, the obstacles facing the establishment of the southern branch were discussed, particularly regarding the provision of necessary infrastructure. This project aims to raise the level of security qualification in the southern region and provide advanced training for those working in the security sector, contributing to the enhancement of security and stability.
The two parties also discussed student admission mechanisms, especially after the Minister approved new graduate programs, most notably the Master’s program in Cyber Security and Digital Forensics, which was recently launched.
The Minister stressed during the meeting the importance of improving the quality of education in the college, confirming that establishing a branch in the south will play a pivotal role in qualifying security personnel to face current challenges.
