The Director-General of the National Center for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Educational and Training Institutions, Rajab Al-Akashi, met with the administration of private higher education to discuss the implementation of a mechanism requiring 25% of faculty and staff members to be formally affiliated with their respective institutions.
During a meeting with heads of private universities, Al-Akashi addressed the need for private universities to comply with specific educational and procedural requirements, including ownership of campus facilities and their suitability for academic operations.
The meeting also emphasized the importance of developing an action plan to execute the instructions of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research. This includes establishing a clear mechanism for granting operational permits in accordance with the standards set by the ministry.
