Libyan roads have witnessed a tragic surge in traffic accidents over the past two days, with a series of devastating incidents resulting in numerous fatalities and injuries across various regions of the country, causing widespread concern among citizens, especially as they coincide with the holy month of Ramadan.
The causes of the accidents varied between excessive speed, negligence, technical malfunctions in vehicles, adverse weather conditions (rain), and the accumulation of dunes on the roads, leading to tragic accidents in several areas:
Al-Qaryat:
A collision between two vehicles (Camry and Sedona) led to a fire in the Sedona vehicle, resulting in the death of a woman and a girl, and the injury of a man and two girls.
Another collision south of Al-Qaryat resulted in the death of four people and the injury of others due to excessive speed and rain.

Sirte:
A vehicle rollover west of Abu Qurayn resulted in injuries to the driver and three other passengers due to a sudden vehicle malfunction.
A pedestrian accident after prayers, due to the absence of traffic signs and markings in front of the mosque.

Al-Wahāt (The Oases):
A collision between two trucks and another accident between two vehicles on the Ajdabiya-Al-Wahāt road resulted in the death of a woman and the injury of a young man due to excessive speed and non-compliance with traffic rules.
A vehicle rollover in the desert resulted in the death of the driver.
A collision between two cars on the road of Hai Alqarah resulted in various injuries.

Ghadames:
A truck accident due to dunes on the road, with the driver surviving.
A car accident involving a Kia car on the road of Sinaon Nalut due to dunes and not removing them by the competent authorities led to the death of the driver.
Zliten:
A car accident in front of Al-Zaddam Mosque on the coastal road resulted in injuries.
Tripoli:
A pedestrian accident on the highway resulted in the person’s death.
A vehicle collision with a light pole due to excessive speed caused significant damage.
The Tripoli Security Directorate has warned of the dangers of excessive speed and called on drivers to abide by traffic laws to preserve lives.
