Security patrols from the Investigation and Arrest Unit of Sabratha’s Criminal Investigation Department carried out a series of raids targeting locations within the city used by African illegal migrants.
The operation led to the detention of dozens of illegal migrants lacking official documentation to prove their legal entry into Libya, with legal procedures initiated against them under local regulations.
In a parallel move, the investigation unit—in coordination with the public prosecutor—sealed off a house on the outskirts of the city after confirming its role as a hub for facilitating illegal immigration activities. The closure followed a judicial order issued by the prosecutor specializing in illegal migration cases, as part of ongoing efforts to address security referrals.
The Ministry of Interior reaffirmed its commitment to comprehensive security campaigns against illegal migration, emphasizing enhanced coordination with judicial authorities to implement stringent measures to combat this phenomenon.
