The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Libya’s GNU announced the inauguration of the German Embassy’s new headquarters in Janzour, Tripoli. This marks a milestone in resumed diplomatic activities since September 2021.
The ministry’s media office highlighted that the embassy’s relocation symbolizes the deepening Libyan-German partnership and reaffirms Berlin’s commitment to supporting Libya politically and economically while broadening avenues for cooperation across multiple sectors.
Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Taher Al-Baour attended the opening ceremony at the German side’s invitation. Al-Baour expressed the Libyan government’s appreciation for this move, stressing its dedication to facilitating the work of diplomatic missions in the country to strengthen bilateral relations and advance stability efforts.
