Ali Al-Abed, Minister of Labor and Rehabilitation, and Mohamed Al-Huwaij, Minister of Economy and Trade, held a coordination meeting in Tripoli on Wednesday to discuss mechanisms for regulating foreign labor in Libya’s commercial sectors.
The ministers stressed the importance of intensifying joint inspection campaigns to identify foreign workers operating in professions legally restricted to Libyans, with strict penalties to be imposed on violators in accordance with local laws.
A statement from the Ministry of Labor confirmed that stringent legal measures would be taken against foreign laborers violating Libyan labor laws, alongside a review of administrative procedures to safeguard the rights of both workers and employers.
