Security forces in Sabratha successfully rescued a kidnapped expatriate and arrested the perpetrator during a targeted operation. The intervention followed a report detailing the kidnapping of the victim using a Kia vehicle and his subsequent confinement in a secret location to extort a ransom from his family abroad.
After intensive investigations, the Investigation and Arrest Unit identified the vehicle and its owner, enabling a swift raid that led to the victim’s release and the seizure of stolen items, including a mobile phone and cash belonging to the victim. The suspect was subjected to legal procedures and placed in provisional detention pending further investigations and judicial proceedings.
