The Chairman of the National Oil Corporation (NOC), Masoud Suleiman, has categorically denied the circulating claims regarding delays in the transfer of oil revenues, emphasizing the regular deposit of all financial entitlements into the public treasury within the specified timeframes and without any delay.
This denial came in an official statement issued by the corporation in response to what it described as “inaccurate media reports” that have been recently addressed by some media outlets.
Suleiman clarified that the slight decrease recorded in February’s revenues is attributed to purely technical factors related to the number of days in the month, noting that February consists of only 28 days, which naturally affects the total volume of revenues compared to the other months.
In a related context, the Chairman of the Corporation affirmed the complete regularity of fuel supply operations to all parts of Libya in accordance with precisely defined schedules, while ensuring fair distribution to all cities, towns, and remote areas without exception. He pointed out that payment mechanisms are subject to the prevailing local regulations and laws.
The statement also emphasized the corporation’s commitment to full and transparent cooperation with all relevant regulatory authorities, including the Attorney General’s Office and the government, considering that any allegations to the contrary represent nothing more than malicious attempts to disrupt the professional and impartial performance of the corporation.
In conclusion, the NOC called on media outlets to exercise due diligence and verify the accuracy of information before publishing it to the public, and urged the Central Bank to adhere to the highest standards of accuracy and objectivity when issuing data and statistics related to the vital oil sector.
