The Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, has expressed his deep concern over the escalating tensions in western Libya, particularly the military build-up near the capital, Tripoli. He warned that these developments could once again push the country into a cycle of conflict, threatening its security and unity.

Official Spokesperson Jamal Rushdi delivered Aboul Gheit’s clear call for all parties to de-escalate and resolve their differences through dialogue. He stressed that violence would only deepen divisions and urged the parties to engage in the negotiation tracks supported by the League, in partnership with regional and international actors.
