Richardson brings more than three decades of professional experience in development, humanitarian assistance, and post-conflict reconstruction. She also possesses a broad knowledge of political, social, economic, and human rights contexts.
She has spent most of her career within the UN system, starting as a volunteer in 1995. Her past work has taken her to various regions, including West and Central Africa, the Western Balkans, and Southeast Europe. She has held prominent positions, including Development Coordinator in Kosovo, Resident Coordinator in Cape Verde, Resident Representative for the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Gabon, and Deputy Resident Representative for UNDP in Turkey and Cuba. She also previously worked with the African Development Bank.
It is hoped that her extensive experience will contribute to supporting UNSMIL’s work in Libya in the coming phase, amid the political and humanitarian challenges facing the country
