The Libyan national weightlifting team arrived in Cairo today via Mitiga International Airport in Tripoli to take part in the Mediterranean Cup, scheduled from September 17 to 20, with athletes representing 11 Mediterranean nations.
Competing for Libya are lifters Ahmed Abu Zreiba, Ihsan Shalabi, and Mohamed Ghulam, coached by Fathi Hamed with assistant coach Jamal Al-Qantri.
The delegation also includes international referee Najwa Naji, who will officiate several matches as part of the accredited refereeing team.
The Libyan squad enters the competition with hopes of delivering strong performances and raising the national flag high in this regional sporting event.
