On the sidelines of the 42nd General Assembly sessions of the International Civil Aviation Organization, the Libyan Minister of Transport for the Government of National Unity, Mohammed Al-Shuhoubi, announced a meeting that gathered him with the Executive Director of the Air Transport and International Affairs Sector at the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Saud Abdulaziz Kankazar. During the meeting, the Emirate expressed its desire to operate direct flights to Libyan airports.
Kankazar confirmed that the authority had submitted a formal written request to the Libyan Civil Aviation Authority to schedule the necessary technical assessment by the relevant authorities, as a preliminary step towards the actual commencement of flights.
This direction comes within the framework of expanding the air connection network and enhancing cooperation in the field of transport between Libya and the UAE
