The head of the Presidential Council, Mohamed al-Menfi, met with the US Chargé d’Affaires to Libya, Jeremy Berndt, to review the latest developments in the Libyan situation. The meeting encompassed a detailed examination of the outcomes from al-Menfi’s recent visit to New York and the discussions held there concerning the country’s political landscape.
Crucially, the talks focused on the vision al-Menfi presented in his address to the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly. In this vision, he stressed the necessity of diagnosing the current Libyan reality and uniting all effective parties. The fundamental goal of these efforts remains achieving stability in Libya and preparing the necessary environment to hold elections. The two officials concluded by reaffirming the critical importance of sustained consultation and coordination between the Presidential Council and all accredited diplomatic missions to ensure continuous, effective support for the political track, thereby meeting the aspirations and ambitions of the Libyan people.
