Economy Ministry Issues First Report on Economic Cooperation with UN Security Council Permanent Five

The Minister of Economy and Trade, Mohamed Al-Hawij, chaired an expanded meeting at the Ministry’s headquarters today, attended by Undersecretaries, department directors, and office directors. The purpose of the session was to review the Economic Cooperation Report prepared between Libya and the five permanent members of the UN Security Council.
This report, the first of its kind issued by the Ministry’s International Cooperation Office, serves as a crucial reference, providing a comprehensive analysis of the current status and prospects of economic relations with the United States, Russia, France, the United Kingdom, and China. The document reviewed key indicators related to trade exchange, existing investments, and potential strengths that can be leveraged to develop economic and investment cooperation.
For his part, Minister Al-Hawij praised the significant efforts undertaken by the International Cooperation Office in preparing this release, affirming that the report represents a vital tool for formulating economic policies based on accurate data, and reflects a clear picture of global economic entanglements and their impact on Libya.
In a related development, the Director of the International Cooperation Office clarified that the office is currently working on subsequent reports that will include Libya’s neighbouring countries and key trading partners, scheduled to be presented to the Minister before the end of October.
