The Libyan Karate Team announced a remarkable performance at the North African Championship held in Cairo, concluding their participation with a distinguished collection of fifteen medals. Detailing these achievements, the final count was distributed across two gold, four silver, and nine bronze medals, confirming the Libyan delegation’s regional prowess. The most outstanding feat came from Nizar Qais Ben Hamid, who single-handedly secured both of the gold medals awarded to the team, following his victories in the Youth Kumite competition (under 70kg). Furthermore, the Under-21 Kata category saw strong performances, with Hani Lotfi earning a silver medal, while Humam Al-Qazla and Sama Al-Fraitis each claimed a bronze medal in the same event. In the Youth Individual Kata, Walaa Al-Shara and Saeed Al-Azzawi each contributed another bronze. The bronze tally was rounded out by Rimas Seif El-Din in the Kumite Under-14 (-47kg) and Amal Faraj in the Youth Kumite (-54kg), a result that underscores the strength of the Libyan team’s overall performance.
