Medical Convoy Completing 50 Surgical Operationsat Ghadames General Hospital,

A specialised and fully equipped medical convoy, travelling from the major cities of Tripoli and Misrata, arrived at Ghadames General Hospital last Thursday. This mission included teams of physicians and consultants of various medical fields, forming part of ongoing efforts to improve the quality of healthcare provided to the region’s inhabitants. The vital specialisations covered by the convoy included Obstetrics and Gynaecology, General Surgery, Ear, Nose, and Throat Surgery (ENT), Paediatrics and Autism, and Orthopaedics, ensuring a broad medical response to local needs. The team commenced work immediately, successfully performing approximately 50 surgical procedures for patients drawn from several neighbouring municipalities, including Ghadames, Dirj, Sinawen, and Awal. These operations effectively eased the strain on the hospital and significantly reduced lengthy patient waiting lists. This initiative is being carried out amid a noticeable shortfall in medical and nursing staff within the region’s health facilities, which makes medical convoys a vital resource for elevating healthcare standards and promoting stability in the sector.
