The head of the Presidential Council, Mohamed al-Menfi, met with the Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid
Dbeibah, on Wednesday to address the latest political and security developments unfolding across the nation.
During their talks, Menfi and Dbeibah stressed that the current measures represent a crucial and pragmatic phase essential for enhancing stability and unifying Libya’s military and security institutions. They expressed their unequivocal support for the committee tasked with overseeing the implementation of the stability reinforcement agreement and the activation of the state’s institutional framework. Furthermore, they affirmed their serious commitment to the redeployment plan, which starts with withdrawing the defence ministry’s reserve forces to positions outside the boundaries of Greater Tripoli. This move will precede the pullback of various security agencies into unified, key headquarters, culminating in the Directorate of Security assuming full responsibility for securing the capital from the conflict resolution committee.
