To strengthen partnership and communication, the Human Rights Committee of the High State Council held a formal meeting today, Wednesday, with representatives from the British Embassy at the Council’s headquarters in the capital, Tripoli.
The meeting was chaired by the Committee’s Head, Fawziya Karwan, and was attended by members: Fathallah Al-Sariri, Latifa Khubaiza, Amal Al-Sallabi, and Aisha Qaliwan. Representing the British Embassy were Laura Kacha, Secretary of the Political Affairs Section, and Alma Gory, Security Policy and Programme Officer.
The core discussions focused on ways to enhance cooperation in the field of human rights, specifically addressing three pivotal issues: the issue of irregular migration in Libya, and the topic of women’s rights.
At the conclusion of the engagement, attendees emphasised the importance of continuous coordination and consultation on all matters of mutual concern. This affirmation serves the goal of supporting the protection of human rights and effectively contributing to boosting overall stability in Libya
