The Head of the Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh, honoured the team that participated in the humanitarian ‘Convoy of Resilience’ mission on Wednesday evening. The team had sailed towards the Gaza Strip aboard the ship ‘Omar Al-Mukhtar’. Several foreign individuals who accompanied the convoy on the mission were also included in the tribute.
During the reception ceremony, Dbeibeh awarded the participants the “Homeland Medal” in recognition of their bravery and the humanitarian stance they demonstrated. He stressed that this initiative embodies genuine Libyan solidarity with the Palestinian people and will remain a shining achievement in the country’s record of honourable national positions.
In his address, the Prime Minister added that the government closely monitored the participants’ situation, particularly after contact with them was lost. He noted that all necessary diplomatic measures were taken to ensure their safety and secure return. Dbeibeh emphasised that their action reflects the permanent commitment of Libyans to the values of freedom, justice, and standing alongside the oppressed, affirming that Libya will remain steadfast in its support for the Palestinian cause and humanitarian relief efforts for the people of Gaza.
