A recent report published by Canais highlighted the details of Libya’s efforts to advance its investment partnerships across Africa, focusing on the distinctive participation of the Libya Africa Investment Portfolio (LAIP) in the International Forum and Exhibition for Transport, Mobility, and Logistics (LOGITERRE 2025), held in Casablanca, Kingdom of Morocco. This appearance was made possible by the official invitation of the African Union of Transport and Logistics, in recognition of the Portfolio’s pivotal role in supporting joint African investments and fostering strategic partnerships across the continent.

The Portfolio’s participation alongside the Ministry of Transportation of the Government of National Unity (as guest of honour) served to reaffirm Libya’s commitment to advancing sustainable development goals and strengthening African ties. The Libyan delegation was led by Mustafa Abufanas, Chairman of the Portfolio’s Board of Directors. The delegation also included the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transportation and Head of the Land Transport Authority, an advisor and Director of the Office of the Prime Minister, the Chairperson of the Permanent Committee for the Implementation and Follow-up of the African Union’s Agenda 2063, alongside other officials from both the Ministry and the Portfolio.

This Forum is considered a crucial platform for exchanging specialised expertise and debating necessary strategies for developing the infrastructure of the transport and logistics sectors, aiming for tangible African economic integration.

During his address, the Chairman of the Portfolio’s Board emphasised that such gatherings present a golden opportunity to build balanced partnerships among African nations, partnerships that must be founded on mutual trust and cooperation to serve the interests of the peoples and achieve responsible investment.

Furthermore, the Portfolio showcased its strategic initiative through a dedicated pavilion at the accompanying exhibition. The presentation focused on the Libya-Africa Transit Corridor Project, which is designed to enhance vital connectivity between the north and south of the continent via Libyan territory. This project garnered significant interest from the Moroccan Minister of Transport and Logistics during his visit to the stand, where the Minister praised the project’s strategic importance in facilitating trade and mobility and supporting the trajectory of African integration.

In conclusion, through its presence at this international event, the Libya Africa Investment Portfolio renews its absolute commitment to its leading role in driving regional cooperation and supporting joint investment projects, thereby contributing to sustainable development both in Libya and across the various nations of the African continent.
