The official tasked with managing the affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in the Government of National Unity, Taher Al-Baour, hosted the newly appointed Japanese Ambassador to Libya, Izuru Shimura, on Monday morning at the Ministry’s headquarters in Tripoli. The meeting also included the outgoing Chargé d’Affaires, Masaki Amadeira.
Al-Baour extended a warm welcome to the new envoy, asserting the Ministry’s readiness to provide all necessary facilities to ensure the success of his mission.
Discussions during the session focused on the bilateral relationship between Libya and Japan, exploring avenues to deepen cooperation across various sectors, alongside addressing several shared points of mutual interest.
Furthermore, Al-Baour voiced his sincere appreciation for the outgoing Chargé d’Affaires’ dedication to bolstering cooperation between the two nations, wishing him success in his future roles. As a gesture of recognition for these efforts, Al-Baour presented Mr. Amadeira with a shield on behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
