A high-level delegation of tribal elders, sheikhs, and dignitaries from the city of Zintan recently met with the General Commander, Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, a move underscoring the deep ties between the military leadership and the local community. The delegation conveyed their profound appreciation for the pivotal role played by Lieutenant General Bassem Al-Bueishi, Assistant to the General Commander of the Libyan Armed Forces, in spearheading comprehensive reconstruction and development initiatives within their city.

The elders highlighted that the recent surge in development witnessed by Zintan serves as tangible evidence of the General Command’s commitment to advancing all Libyan cities and regions. They specifically pointed to a variety of completed service, health, and educational projects, confirming their unwavering support for the military establishment and its leadership. These achievements include the inauguration of new educational facilities and the refurbishment of the Sports City, a vital landmark intended to support the region’s youth.

These initiatives were executed as part of an integrated reconstruction blueprint, which Lieutenant General Al-Bueishi personally oversaw on the ground to ensure the highest standards of quality in delivery. Acting upon directives from Field Marshal Haftar, Lt Gen Al-Bueishi assured the delegation that the developmental momentum would be sustained. He promised that Zintan is set to witness an expansion of service and developmental projects in the coming phase. Furthermore, he noted that this future vision encompasses broadening focus areas to support the water and agriculture sectors, alongside a shift towards green economy practices. The primary objective remains the creation of new employment opportunities for the city’s youth and national cadres, thus securing sustainable development for the entire area.
