Libyan athletes begin Karate and Muay Thai campaigns at Islamic Solidarity Games

The Libyan national team is fielding several athletes in both Karate and Muay Thai competitions at the Sixth Islamic Solidarity Games, which are currently being hosted in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, featuring participation from over 50 Islamic nations. The fights are taking place at the Maladh Fighting Hall with a wide audience.
In Muay Thai, Libya is represented by Moayyed Al-Tikbali (60kg), who is scheduled to meet Eyad Al-Badr of Iraq, and his teammate Suhayb Al-Muntasir (70kg), who will face Mohammed Mardi of Jordan.
In Karate, the two Libyan athletes begin their participation with high ambitions. Nouri Al-Saadawi, in the +84kg category, will start his campaign from the Quarter-finals against a strong opponent, Congo Martini Louis of Cameroon. Meanwhile, Mohammed Abudabbus will compete in the Round of 16 for the 75kg category against Syria’s Anas Al-Obeid. The Libyan champion aims to assert his technical presence and strongly contend for a medal.
The technical staff is hopeful that this participation will yield positive results, contributing to Libya’s overall medal tally, particularly given the high level of readiness and challenging spirit demonstrated by the athletes.
