The two Libyan athletes participating in the weightlifting competitions at the Islamic Solidarity Games, currently taking place in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, concluded their involvement without securing a medal. Both competitors finished fourth in their respective categories, narrowly missing out on claiming the bronze.
Weightlifter Mohammed Al-Zintani (79kg) secured fourth place after struggling with his attempts to lift 187kg; he stumbled on the first attempt and failed to succeed in the two subsequent clean and jerk lifts.
His teammate, Ahmed Abuzriba (94kg), also finished in fourth place after failing his second and third attempts to lift 202kg.
