The Misurata Movement against Foreign Settlement and Irregular Migration issued its fourteenth statement, coinciding with a peaceful rally held in Al-Nasr Square in the city centre.
The movement firmly demanded the immediate deportation of infiltrators to their countries, stressing the need to suspend the enumeration of irregular migrants, which it labelled as “unclear steps.” The statement stressed the importance of establishing temporary detention centres to be placed under the direct supervision of the Public Prosecution, designated strictly for the purpose of deportation.
The Movement asserted that the goal of the rally was to protect community security and prevent any potential demographic change. It urged competent governmental bodies to immediately enforce laws related to the illegal presence of foreigners, pointing to the resulting security, economic, health, and social damage stemming from the phenomenon.
Finally, the Movement criticised the media coverage of the issue, calling on both private and public institutions to assume their national responsibility for protecting the nation and its citizens
