The United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) has reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to engaging with all Libyans across the country, emphasizing that this broad outreach is a crucial component of implementing the political roadmap.
In line with this overarching strategy, the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General, Hannah Tetteh, along with her Deputy for Political Affairs, Stephanie Khoury, met with a delegation of leading figures from the former regime.
The Mission clarified that this specific meeting falls within its ongoing efforts to broaden communication with various segments of Libyan society regarding the political roadmap, which includes the Structured Dialogue.
During the discussions, both parties emphasized the importance of genuine inclusive participation, alongside the crucial need to establish effective follow-up mechanisms. They deemed these elements vital for enhancing the political roadmap’s chances of success and ensuring the implementability of its outcomes.
