An official delegation from Libya’s Ministry of Oil and Gas represented Libya at the Conference of the Parties on Climate Change (COP30), which convened in Belém, Brazil, amidst extensive international participation. Libya’s attendance at the event was aimed at monitoring key global issues concerning the energy sector and climate change.
The Libyan delegation participated in a series of important coordination meetings, including those held for the Arab Group and the Group of 77 plus China. The representatives also attended specialised technical sessions that centred on two pivotal areas for supporting developing nations: climate finance and technology transfer. These axes are considered crucial elements for assisting countries in the transition towards a low-carbon economy, while simultaneously bolstering their environmental protection efforts.
Through this active presence, the Ministry of Oil and Gas underscores the vital importance of Libya’s engagement in international climate-related events.
