A delegation from Italy, which visited Libya last week, formally handed over the original signed copy of the coastal road sub-sector contract connecting Imsa’ed and Ras Ajdir on Friday. The document’s handover followed its final ratification by the Libyan Government of National Unity. Massimo Sisa, the Italian side’s head of the Joint Libyan-Italian Committee, received the document on behalf of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
This official handover follows the finalisation of all procedures for the definitive approval of the sub-sector contract 4.3, spanning from Imsa’ed to Ras Ajdir, with the Italian firm Todini. The Italian company had previously received the final contract copy last Thursday morning, allowing it to immediately commence preparations and formulate the necessary timeline for the project’s launch.
The Executive and Management Body for the Imsa’ed–Ras Ajdir Road stated that the Italian side has pledged to liaise with the Ministry of Finance in Rome. This contact aims to secure the required budget allocation for 2026 to ensure the commencement of the vital project’s execution.
